Willow Hugs began with a simple belief: sometimes the biggest moments in life are the hardest to put into words.
We're a small, family-owned business built on love, personal experience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Our coloring books are thoughtfully created to help children and families navigate life's biggest moments, opening the door to conversations that aren't always easy to begin.
Our stories come from the heart.
Like many families, we've experienced life's joys, challenges, unexpected turns, and everything in between. Some of those experiences have been wonderful. Others have been incredibly difficult. Together, they've shaped the way we see the world and inspired us to create something meaningful.
For our family, one of those experiences changed everything.
In 2019, Cathy was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. The cancer was considered inoperable, and she was given just months to live. Against extraordinary odds, she responded to an immunotherapy clinical trial and went on to experience a remarkable recovery.
Today, she's not only here to tell her story, but she's also living with a renewed sense of purpose.
Surviving cancer changed the way she looks at life. It brought a deeper appreciation for the little things, a greater understanding of what others may be going through, and a desire to use her second chance to bring something positive into the world.
As parents and caregivers, we all want to support our children the best we can—but sometimes it’s hard to know how to begin difficult conversations.
Willow Hugs grew from that perspective.
We know that children experience big feelings, too. They have questions, worries, hopes, and emotions they may not always know how to express. And sometimes, the simplest activities can create the most meaningful connections.
That's why we create coloring books that do more than entertain. Each book is designed with care, offering gentle language, relatable experiences, and creative activities that encourage understanding, conversation, and connection.
The Meaning Behind Our Name
Willow trees have always been special to us. Their beauty, strength, and ability to weather life's storms represent so much of what we believe in. The name Willow is also a loving tribute to our daughter, making it even more meaningful to our family.
We chose Hugs because everyone needs a little comfort sometimes. Whether it's reassurance during a difficult moment or simply knowing someone understands, that's the feeling we hope our books bring.
Together, Willow Hugs is a reflection of what matters most to us: strength, compassion, and connection.
From Our Family to Yours
We're not a big publishing company. We're a family with a passion for helping other families. Every topic we choose, every page we create, and every story we share has a purpose. We don't pretend to have all the answers. We simply believe that a little understanding, a little kindness, and a safe place to explore big feelings can make a meaningful difference.
Our hope is that every Willow Hugs book finds its way into the hands of someone who needs it.
And if our books help even one child feel less alone, one parent find the right words, or one family feel a little more connected, then we're doing exactly what we set out to do.
